Terms of Service

1. Who we are

Flit (flitlink.com, flitl.ink, flit.ing) is a link-shortening service operated by Pentacom Software ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the service you agree to these terms and to our Acceptable Use Policy.

2. Your account

You need an account to create links. Keep your login and API keys secret — anything done with them is treated as done by you. You must be at least 16 and legally able to enter this agreement. One person or organization per account; you're responsible for people you invite into it.

3. The service

Flit shortens URLs, serves redirects, generates QR codes, and reports click analytics — through the web app and, on the Pro plan, a REST API and MCP server. We aim for high availability but the free and Pro plans come with no uptime guarantee or SLA. We may change or discontinue features; if we ever discontinue the service itself, we'll give at least 90 days' notice and a way to export your links.

4. Billing

Pro is billed monthly through Stripe. You can cancel any time from the billing page; cancelling keeps Pro active until the end of the period you've already paid for — no early cutoff, no cancellation fee. If a renewal payment fails we retry for a grace period before downgrading you to Free. Downgrading never deletes your links: existing links keep redirecting, and free-plan limits apply only to creating new ones. Prices can change, but never mid-cycle and never without email notice before your next renewal.

5. Your content

Your links, titles, and destinations are yours. You give us only the license needed to operate the service: storing them, serving redirects, and showing you analytics. We don't sell your data or your visitors' data — see the Privacy Policy for exactly what we collect.

6. What you can't use Flit for

The short version: don't use Flit to harm people. Malware, phishing, spam, and deceptive redirects get links disabled and accounts terminated — details in the Acceptable Use Policy, which is part of these terms. We may scan destination URLs against safety services and block links that fail.

7. The API

API access (REST and MCP) is a Pro feature and is subject to published rate limits. Don't circumvent limits, resell raw API access as your own shortening service, or use the API to violate the Acceptable Use Policy. We may revoke keys involved in abuse.

8. Termination

You can delete your account any time. We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with notice where practical — except for active abuse (phishing, malware), which we stop immediately. On termination we may disable your links; where the account was in good standing we'll keep redirects alive for a reasonable wind-down period.

9. Disclaimers and liability

The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including lost profits or lost data. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms; material changes will be announced by email to account holders at least 14 days before taking effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the new terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state where Pentacom Software is organized, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Before any formal dispute, you agree to contact us at hello@flitlink.com and give us 30 days to work it out — most things are a misunderstanding or a bug.
