Acceptable Use Policy

Effective 2026-08-24 · Short links are a favorite tool of scammers. This policy exists so Flit never becomes one.

Never allowed

Links (or QR codes) whose destination is, or that are used for:

• Phishing, credential harvesting, or impersonating another person, brand, or service
• Malware, spyware, or drive-by downloads
• Fraud and scams, including fake stores, advance-fee schemes, and crypto rug pulls
• Unsolicited bulk messaging — email spam, SMS spam, comment spam — with Flit links as the payload
• Child sexual abuse material (reported to authorities, no exceptions, no warnings)
• Content that is illegal where we operate, or that facilitates violence or harassment against real people
• Deceptive redirect chains — cloaking, bait-and-switch destinations, or evading another platform's safety filters

How we enforce this

Destinations are checked against link-safety services and our own signals, at creation and periodically after. A link that fails a check is disabled — visitors see a plain "link blocked" page instead of the destination (HTTP 451). Accounts creating abusive links are terminated, and free-tier signup and creation velocity are rate-limited to make bulk abuse expensive. We may report criminal activity to authorities.

If we get it wrong and block a legitimate link, email us — a human looks at every appeal.

If a flitl.ink, flit.ing, or flitlink.com link is being used for any of the above, email hello@flitlink.com with the short link. Abuse reports are read first and acted on fast — usually the same day.
